Vladimir Putin: the West provokes war with Russia on Tuesday 1 Feb.

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the West on Tuesday of deliberately creating a scenario designed to lure it into war and ignoring Russia’s security concerns over Ukraine.

As tensions rise:

“Let’s imagine Ukraine is a NATO member and starts these military operations.

Are we supposed to go to war with the NATO bloc?

Has anyone given that any thought?

Apparently not,” Putin said.

The World Government Movement believes both parties must seek peace!

A Letter to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth by Michael Maas.

Dear Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth,

I already sent the same letter to various world leaders.

Because I believe we can create Heaven on Earth if the world leaders form a world government.

Because if we work in unity there is order not chaos we are living in right now…

I am the founder of the World Government Movement and I believe our common goal should be creating Heaven on Earth.

Especially our world leaders should share this common goal and work together…

World leaders take major step to restore and protect forests at COP26.

A pivotal pledge to save and restore our planet’s forests was officially announced on the second day of the COP26 World Leaders Summit in Glasgow.

With that deal came a long list of commitments from public and private sector actors to combat climate change, curb biodiversity destruction and hunger, and to protect indigenous peoples’ rights.

A film narrated by Sir David Attenborough played on the screens at the COP26:

By destroying forests, we are harming biodiversity and our lives

Forests provide fresh water, clean the air we breathe, inspire spiritual value, and provide us with food

Our challenge now must be to halt deforestation and beginning to restore forests.

It is a huge undertaking, and every country will need their own table approach.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson came to the podium to announce that at least 110 countries representing 85 per cent of the planet’s forests had signed the pivotal COP26 Glasgow Leaders Declaration on Forests and Land Use, committing to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030.

Protecting our forest is not only a course of action for tackling climate change but also for a more prosperous future,” he said.

Boris Johnson highlighted that China, Russia and Brazil have also joined the promise, which he believed could be also a ‘parallel’ opportunity for job creation.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and well as Brazil’s, Jair Bolsonaro, appeared in a pre-recorded message supporting the pledge, among other leaders absent from the COP.

“Signing the Declaration is the easy part.

It is essential that it is implemented now for people and the planet,” UN chief António Guterres urged on his official twitter account, according UN News.

United Nations chief to COP26: “enough of treating nature like a toilet”.

As the World Leaders Summit opened on day two of COP26, UN chief António Guterres sent a stark message to the international community.

We are digging our own graves”, he said, referring to the addiction to fossil fuels which threatens to push humanity and the planet, to the brink, through unsustainable global heating.

It was a grey and windy morning, as dozens of world leaders arrived at the Scottish Event Campus, of the key United Nations climate conference, in the city of Glasgow.

Since 6.30am, long lines of people gathered at the gates to get their accreditations, and pass through tight security, which included presenting proof of negative COVID-19 tests.

Journalists from all over the world set to work side by side in the event halls, armed with a host of microphones, cameras, lights and recording equipment.

The stage was set to hear from Heads of State as COP26 got underway, including the co-host:

  • Prime Minister Boris Johnson, of the United Kingdom,
  • US President Joe Biden,
  • French President Emmanuel Macron,
  • Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
  • European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
  • and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

We want the Heads of State to be real leaders, and for them to ignite change and step up during COP26”, Juan Pablo Sierra, a young climate activist from NGO United for Climate Action, told UN News just before the ceremony started.

The UN chief called for greater ambition on mitigation and immediate concrete action to reduce global emissions by 45 per cent by 2030; an effort that should be led by developed countries.

G20 countries have a particular responsibility as they represent around 80 per cent of emissions”, he said, making clear however, that emerging economies must also go the extra mile.

We need maximum ambition, from all countries on all fronts to make Glasgow a success”, he added, according UN News.

G20 and COP26 opened with calls for solutions to tackle climate crisis.

The eyes of the world are on Glasgow the coming 2 weeks, as the United Nations climate summit known as COP26 opened with UN diplomats and politicians.

The world leaders calling for more action, and ambition, to set out new commitments for curbing greenhouse emissions and adapting to the impacts of a warming planet.

With the official opening of the two-week conference coming hours after preliminary climate talks among world leaders at the G20 summit in Rome saw meager forward movement.

Upon his departure from Rome, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in a tweet that while he welcomed the G20’s recommitment to global solutionshe was leaving the summit with his hopes unfulfilled.

The release of a key report from the UN weather agencywarning that the past seven years are set to be the hottest on recordand our planet is heading into “uncharted territory”, the stakes for COP26 couldn’t be higher.

But at least they are not buried,” he said, and added: “Onward to Glasgow and COP26 to keep the goal of 1.5 degrees alive and to implement promises on finance and adaptation for people and the planet.”

Antonio Guterres is addressing the COP26 World Leader’s Summit.

COP26 brings together Heads of State and Governmentcivil society and business leaders, who have been invited to set out the ambitious actions they are taking to reduce emissions, scale-up adaptation and mobilize finance, and to signal their commitment to ensuring that COP26 keeps 1.5°C in reach, according UN News.

Boris Johnson to UN: ‘The adolescence of humanity is coming to an end’.

In his speech to the high-level debate at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared that ‘it is time for mankind to grow up and take responsibility for the damage we are inflicting on the planet’.

Boris Johnson said: “The human species is nearing the end of the adolescent phase of its evolutionary lifespan“.

He referred to November’s COP26 UN climate conference, which he is hosting in the Scottish city of Glasgow, as the moment to show that mankind is capable of learning and maturing.

Daily, weekly, we are doing such irreversible damage that, long before a million years (of humankind) are up, we will have made this beautiful planet effectively uninhabitable, not just for us but for many other species”, said the Prime Minister of the UK.

Business as usual, warned the UK leader, will see temperatures going up by more than 2.7 degrees or more by the end of the century, with disastrous consequences, because of human action.

“Our grandchildren”, he said, “will know that.. we missed our cue, and they will ask what kind of people we were to be so selfish and so short-sighted”.

Looking ahead to COP26, Mr. Johnson described the climate conference as a opportunity to grow up, a metaphorical “16th birthday party for humanity”, at which the world can celebrate a coming of age, and “blow out the candles of a world on fire”, according UN News.

The weather in the United Kingdom: the 2021 summer one of the warmest on record.

Higher than normal temperatures in Northern Ireland and Scotland have pushed the United Kingdom`s average towards the top 10 hottest summers on record, with temperatures amounting to around one degree warmer than average.

Global climate reports shows that 2020 was Europe‘s warmest on record by a large margin.

The year 2021 will probably even warmer than the year 2020.

The consequences of climate change are becoming more and more visible and confirmed by global science.

The World Government Movement believes the world leaders must do everything they can to stop global warming.

Police arrests more than 50 people at Extinction Rebellion protests in London.

Environmental activists took to the streets of central London for Extinction Rebellion’s fifth mass protest, targeting the “root cause” of the climate and nature crises.

Protesters blocked roads in central London, including around Trafalgar Square, as they demanded the government immediately end investment in fossil fuels.

Activists also set up a large pink structure at the junction of Long Acre and Upper St Martin’s Lane with the words “come to the table” written across it to highlight the right everyone has to have a say in how to tackle the crisis.

The group has planned two weeks of action in the capital of England.

Boris Johnson: ‘Please, please be cautious’ as we lift COVID rules.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged the British public to be cautious and said they must self-isolate when told to do so as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted in England on Monday.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday urged caution as the legal lockdown restrictions come to an end in England on so-called ‘Freedom Day’, even as he remains in self-isolation after coming in contact with UK Health Secretary Sajid Javid who has tested positive for Covid-19.

Coronavirus Freedom Day

“Please, please, please, be cautious,” Johnson said in a video from his own period of self-isolation, which was announced earlier on Sunday.

“Go forward tomorrow into the next step with all the right prudence and respect for other people, for the risks that the disease continues to present and, above all, please please please when you’re asked to get that second jab … please come forward and do it.”

Boris Johnson warned of the ‘extreme contagiousness’ of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, which continues to keep the infection rate in the country at very high levels.

Under Step Four of the government’s four-step roadmap to end lockdown, Covid restrictions have now been replaced with guidance emphasising personal judgment and responsibility on face masks in indoor settings and caution in large gatherings.

“We’re doing a big opening up, and that’s quite right. If we don’t do it now we’ll be opening up in the autumn and winter months when the virus has the advantage of the cold weather.

We’ll lose the precious firebreak we get with the school holidays,” said Johnson in a video posted on Twitter.
